Well, we made it to Nashville....but
no, we didn't make a record!
Our main objective here was to take
an excursion train trip on the
Tennessee Central Railway
This trip went from Nashville to Monterey,
TN. It has been 50 years since
a passenger train had rolled into Monterey.
At Monterey they were having a Fall Festival and
a Civil War Reinactment battle. It
was a all day trip through some beautiful country. Many of
the pictures we took were from the
train. Well, as you might imagine, a train is never free of
rocking and jerking...so many photos
were a tad blury.

Power
Illinois Central Extended Vision Caboose # 9380
Power for this trip was a EMD F40 (Amtrak), 2 F7B Units
#'s 715 & 719 and EMD E8 Unit # 6902
While we would have enjoyed getting to photograph the
locomotives in a better condition and setting,
it was not possible on this trip.
We will start with the power car #1354 and moving to
the back of the consist
Post Office Car # 514 which is was converted to an
additional power car

Well, do you need a good car? This lot seems to have
some nice rides availble!

TC Caboose # 9828
Here is a nicely restored speeder. What I didn't realize
until editing this photo was the other speeder behind it.
Pulling into Cookville. The man in the picture is a
US Senator. The lady must have been his daughter with his grandchildren.
They had the
train stopped to ride it on to Monterey. Go figure,
who else could have stopped a 'special train'!
In station to pick up additional passengers
